What To Expect

I'm often overwhelmed by the dissonance in media reporting on energy systems and policy topics. Popular news frequently lacks context, almost always lacks historical perspective, and sometimes is just factually incorrect. In my efforts to counteract this anathema of circumstances, I find myself teaching, lecturing, hosting workshops, and writing for various career-oriented websites. I want people to feel comfortable asking questions, enjoy learning and enjoy the thinking that comes with it.

Much of what I do in the real world will appear here. This includes content I discuss with student energy clubs, legislative and agency staffers seeking to learn substantive concepts, fellow seasoned professionals at industry events, and even some winding thoughts that sprout from deeper one-on-one interactions with other curious cats in my field.

Don't be surprised if politics, history, behavioral economics, macroeconomics, statistics, physics, humor, and charivari all make an appearance. Energy as a concept is as vast in breadth as it is in depth, and understanding it benefits from being viewed through various lenses and disciplines.
